Last updated: October 22, 2026
These Terms are the agreement between you and Tally for using the Tally budget planner and the paid Tally Sync plan. Please read them. By creating an account, paying for Tally Sync, or using Tally, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

1. The service
Tally helps you plan and track your money. Tally Free works on your device with no account. Tally Sync is a paid plan that saves your budget to your account, makes it available across your devices, unlocks all your hidden older months, and includes extra features such as more savings jars, longer reports and full history download. The features of each plan are described in the app and may be improved over time.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old, or have a parent or guardian’s permission, to use Tally Sync.
- Give us a correct email address and keep your login private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.
3. Tally Sync plans, prices and payment
- Price. Tally Sync costs $4.99 USD per month or $39.99 USD per year. The price is shown in the app before you pay. Prices are in US dollars and are not converted inside Tally. Your bank or payment provider may show the amount in your local currency, and may add its own fees or exchange rates.
- Automatic renewal. Tally Sync is a subscription that renews automatically. The checkout shows, before you pay, the price, how often you will be charged, and that the plan renews until you cancel. You can cancel any time, as explained below.
- How renewal works. Your plan renews at the end of each period (monthly or yearly) for another period of the same length. We charge the same payment method you used at checkout, at the then-current price, until you cancel. You agree to these recurring charges when you start the plan.
- You can cancel any time. Cancel from the Tally Sync page in the app, or email [email protected] and we will cancel it for you. After you cancel, you will not be charged again. Your Tally Sync stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and then your account moves to Tally Free. Cancelling does not delete your budget.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may try again a few times. If it still fails, your plan ends when the paid period ends. You can renew whenever you like.
- Payment provider. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider under its own terms. The provider securely stores your payment method so it can charge renewals. Tally does not see or store your full card details. We may change our payment provider from time to time, and we will tell you if that affects your plan.
- Taxes. Depending on where you live, tax may be added to the price. If it is, the checkout shows the total before you pay.
- Price changes. We may change prices for future periods. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to a renewing plan, and you can cancel before it starts. A change never affects a period you have already paid for.
- If something goes wrong. If you paid but your plan did not switch on, use “check my plan” in the app, or email [email protected] with your payment reference. We will fix it.
4. Refunds
If you were charged by mistake, charged twice, were charged a renewal you did not mean to keep, or paid but could not use Tally Sync, email [email protected] within 14 days of the payment and we will put it right, including a refund where appropriate. Otherwise, payments for a period already in use are generally not refundable, but we will always look at your situation fairly. Nothing here limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under the law where you live.
5. Your data
- Your budget data belongs to you. We only use it to run Tally for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- When your Tally Sync plan ends, your budget stays safe on your device and in your account. Older months may be hidden on the Free plan until you renew, but we do not delete them because your plan ended.
- You can ask us to delete your account and cloud data at any time at [email protected].
- You can download your history as long as your plan is active. Please keep your own copies of anything important.
6. Acceptable use
Please do not: break the law using Tally; try to access other people’s accounts or data; probe, overload or attack Tally or its systems; copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service except where the law allows; or share your login so others can use your paid plan. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
7. Not financial advice
Tally is a planning and tracking tool. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Numbers in the app depend on what you enter. The choices you make with your money are yours, and you may wish to speak to a qualified professional about big decisions.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Tally running smoothly and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may improve, change or remove features, and we will give notice of any change that significantly reduces what you paid for. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the date above, and tell you about important changes in the app or by email. If you keep using Tally after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
9. Our responsibility
Tally is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost data, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Tally Sync in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot be excluded by law, including for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Tally at any time, and ask us to delete your account. If you have a Tally Sync plan, cancel it as described in section 3 so you are not charged again. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, and if we end your access without a breach by you, we will refund the unused part of your paid period.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws that apply to our business, but this does not take away any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. If you have a problem, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to fix it. If we cannot, you may bring a claim in the courts that have authority where you live, as the law allows.
